  1. Begin by zesting one fresh orange to capture its vibrant flavor. Then, sift 4 cups of confectioners' sugar in a bowl to remove any lumps.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine 4 ounces of softened cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of softened butter. Blend on medium speed for about 1-2 minutes until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add 1 teaspoon of orange extract and grated orange zest. Mix on low speed until fully incorporated.
  4. If desired, add a drop or two of orange gel coloring and mix thoroughly until the color is uniform.
