Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. Slice the oranges into 1/4-inch thick slices and remove seeds.
  3. In a skillet, combine equal parts water and sugar, and heat until boiling to dissolve sugar.
  4. Add orange slices to the boiling syrup and simmer uncovered for about 1 hour.
  5. Remove orange slices from syrup and place them on the baking sheet to cool for at least 24 hours.
  6. Melt chocolate in a microwave or double-boiler until smooth.
  7. Dip each dried orange slice halfway into the melted chocolate and set them back on the baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let sit until chocolate hardens, about 15 minutes.
