- Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- Slice the oranges into 1/4-inch thick slices and remove seeds.
- In a skillet, combine equal parts water and sugar, and heat until boiling to dissolve sugar.
- Add orange slices to the boiling syrup and simmer uncovered for about 1 hour.
- Remove orange slices from syrup and place them on the baking sheet to cool for at least 24 hours.
- Melt chocolate in a microwave or double-boiler until smooth.
- Dip each dried orange slice halfway into the melted chocolate and set them back on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let sit until chocolate hardens, about 15 minutes.
