  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil for a dairy-free option
For Seasoning
  • 1-2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning adjust to taste

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, set over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly but not browned.
  2. Add the chopped onion, stirring occasionally until translucent, about 4–5 minutes. Then add minced garlic and sauté for another minute.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth while stirring gently, increase heat slightly to bring to a simmer.
  4. Add crab meat and shrimp, cooking for about 3–5 minutes until shrimp are pink and opaque.
  5. Reduce heat to low, stir in heavy cream and warm through for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Season with Old Bay, salt, and pepper to taste, simmer for another 5–10 minutes.
  7. Ladle into warm bowls, garnishing with fresh herbs or crab meat if desired. Serve with crusty bread.
