Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread and place butter-side down.
  2. Flip the bread slices so unbuttered sides are facing up and spread pizza sauce on each slice.
  3. Layer mozzarella cheese on top of the pizza sauce, then add slices of pepperoni.
  4. Top each sandwich with a second slice of sourdough bread, unbuttered side facing the filling.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and grill the sandwiches for about 3-4 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the sandwiches, let them rest for a minute, and sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  7. Slice the sandwiches diagonally and serve warm.
