Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, breaking it into small pieces. Cook for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  2. Push the cooked beef to one side. In the cleared space, add the onion. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened, then stir in the garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  3. Stir in the diced tomatoes, cumin, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, and salt. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the chopped cabbage, stir into the beef mixture, cover, and cook for 10-15 minutes until the cabbage is tender.
  5. Taste and adjust seasonings if necessary. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, then serve warm.
